IRISH NATIONAL BOUCAN 2004 - Dingle, Co. Kerry

The schedule of the main events in 2008 are:

1) the Northern Table's Boucan on Rathlin Island on June 14th.  Rathlin lies 6 miles off the North East Coast and is only 16 miles from the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland . Rathlin was the first place in Ireland to be ravaged by the Norsemen in the year of Our Lord 793 ;

 

2)The Southern Table willl hold a Boucan in Baltimore, Co. Cork on the weekend of July 19th. It has a fine harbour and is well known to sailors from England, Brittany, Normandy and France. The National Zaff was held there in 2007;

 

3) the National Zaffarancho will be on the island of InisBofin on the weekend of August 1st. Inis Bofin lies 5 miles off the coast of Connemara, Co. Galway and is only 2,600 miles from Boston, Mass. It also has a fine harbour, guarded by an old fort. There are three good hotels. Inis Bofin was the second place in Ireland to be ravaged by the Norsemen in 793 A.D.

PAST EVENTS

2006, July 7th - 9th.  The National Boucan was held in Dingle, Co. Kerry.
2005, July 8th the Table held a National Boucan in Glengarriff, Co. Cork and was attended by members of the Fleets of the UK and Normandy.
2005, June 18th a West Coast Boucan was held on the island of Inis Bofin, north of Slyne Head.
2004 the Table held a National Boucan in Dingle, Co. Kerry which was attended by members of the Fleets of Normandy and Brittany.
